Imagine that you use two computers on a regular basis, one being located at work and the other, at home. In this situation, you may need to synchronize files and folders between these computers, so that you will be sure that you always have the same data on both of them. Unfortunately, Windows doesn't have a tool specially designed for this, so the only thing left to do is to install a 3rd party application for this purpose.

A program which can help you synchronize files between two computers is DataSync. The application does not require any installation and it's enough to run the EXE file included inside the downloaded archive. After loading the application, a step by step wizard will be displayed, which has the purpose of defining the program's functionality.

The first thing to do is to give the name of the folder which will be used for synchronizing. After that, the path of the folder should be defined and optionally, a username and a password, so that nobody except you will be able to access it. At this point, the user should defined the path for the second folder. This can be either located on a USB flash disk or on another computer connected to the network.

At the end of the configuration process, the user can define various filters, like including or excluding certain files and folders from the synchronization process. After completing the step by step wizard, one will be able to sync files using a single mouse click. An unlimited number of synchronization tasks can be defined, each containing its own settings and options.

By accessing the options area of the application, the user will be able to change the skin of the interface and also set filters for all the sync tasks, being able to exclude or include certain file types from the process.
